Background:
Myung moved to Ann Arbor, Michigan in 1985 where she began skating at the age of five. In 1994 she began to skate competitively under the direction of Carrie Keil. Since then, Myung has competed up to the intermediate level at the Midwestern Sectionals and has passed her Pre-Silver dances, Novice freeskate, and Gold moves in the field. After graduating from Pioneer High School, Myung went on to earn her Bachelors of Science degree from the University of Michigan in Cellular and Molecular Biology. During that time she taught LTS group lessons as well as private lessons at the AAFSC. Currently she is pursuing her Masters of Public Health degree at the University of Michigan as well as working to foster the development of young, aspiring skaters.
Experience:
Myung has taught LTS group lessons since 1998 and has taught private lessons since 2000. Since 2005, Myung has been the Coordinator of Low Freestyle where she is responsible for helping young skaters transition from LTS to private lessons. She specializes freestyle, moves in the field, and choreography. However, her main interest is in helping to develop younger skaters working on basic skills into strong freestyle competitors. She has also guided students from the basic skills level all the way through the last testing level (Gold FM).
