The Ann Arbor FSC will be hosting the 2008 Adult Midwestern Sectional Competition on March 8-9, 2008. The competition will take place at Veterans Arena. The announcement for both nonqualifying and qualifying events are now available from the Adult Mids 2008 link on the left sidebar.

Attention Springtime Competition coaches and skaters: The USFSA has given non-qualifying competition the option of implementing the new ISU Communication 1445 between now and June 10. The Springtime LOC reaffirms our earlier communications that ISU Communication 1445 will be used for our competition May 17-20. |

From Nancy Bates: It was like a nightmare. The gold was in sight.. The kids were looking fabulous and were 1 minute from the end of the program. Emily says she lost an edge, went down and Evan did too, stepping on her left hand.. Everyone in the arena was silent when it happened. All the competitors are their friends are so were very upset, crying and waiting. We have run the gamut of emotions and poor Evan has experienced them all. Yasa and Youri went to the surgery hospital along with Eric (Bates) and Joanie (Samuelson). It really could have been worse. She could have easily lost a finger or cut an artery. This is the hard way to win fans but I think they have many new ones in Germany! Yasa and Youri have had a really tough week. The Hubbels fell, then Keiffer became very sick with the flu..Lynne and Logan did a great job but the judges did not reward them..I feel like I need to get a life after this!!! We are grateful for the friends here who have been so helpful. Love Nancy |

Emily was transfered to a larger city in Germany for surgery on Saturday. The surgery went well and they repaired her severed tendon. Emily says she lost an edge, went down and Evan did too, stepping on her left hand. |

Emily Samuelson was injured during the Free Dance at the World Junior Championships in Germany. As a result, Emily and Evan had to withdraw from the competition. We pray for successful surgery for Emily on her return to the United States. USFSA report (scroll down to Free Dance). Madie and Keiffer finished sixth, and Lynn and Logan finished eleventh. |

There will be a sendoff party for the Novice and Junior Hockettes going to Synchro Nationals and for the ice dancers, Emily & Evan, Madi & Keiffer and Lynn & Logan, going to World Junior Championships on Sunday, February 18 from 4:00-8:00pm at the Cube, in the hallway by the concession stand. Please bring healthy food to share. Paper products, water and a cake will be provided. |

The entry deadline for the Springtime Invitational is March 26. Contrary to rumors ciculating in the skating community, we are not full at any level. We will be taking entries up until March 26. At that time, we will evaluate numbers in all levels. If there are too many entries, we will accept entries based on postmark date. |
